A ZIMBABWEAN delegation of senior Government officials attending a Ministerial Seminar for Senior Public Management Officials of Zimbabwe in China on Friday toured exhibitions showcasing the latest developments in digital trade and technology at the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).
The delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Mercy Dinha, visited the exhibitions on the sidelines of a conference focusing on the innovation and development of digital trade in Xiong’an.
The visit gave the Zimbabwean officials an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into how China is using emerging technologies, digital platforms and innovative services to transform trade and drive economic development.
CIFTIS is one of China’s major international platforms for promoting trade in services and has become an important meeting point for governments, businesses and technology companies from around the world.
The fair provides a platform for countries to explore partnerships, exchange expertise and identify opportunities presented by the rapidly expanding digital economy.
For Zimbabwe, the showcase comes at a time when Government is accelerating efforts to modernise public services, expand digital infrastructure and harness technology to drive economic growth.
The delegation’s participation in the seminar, organised by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), is also expected to strengthen Zimbabwe’s understanding of China’s experience in public-sector management, digital transformation and the use of technology in national development.
The officials interacted with technologies and innovations showcased by Chinese companies, offering practical lessons that could inform Zimbabwe’s own digital transformation and public-service modernisation initiatives.
Vice-President Dr Constantino Chiwenga is expected to address the gathering later.
