ZIMBABWE’S Emerging cricket team suffered yet another heavy defeat at the hands of Omtex ICWC Cricket Institute on Tuesday after losing the fourth four-day match by an innings and 154 runs in Mumbai, India.
The Minor Chevrons went into the match looking at levelling the series which was 2-1 and were, however, thumped by the hosts. Batting first, Omtex scored 448 all out in 105. 4 overs and went on to bowl out Zimbabwe for 115 in 32.1 overs in the first innings and 179 all out in the second innings after being asked to follow on.

Despite conceding a huge first-innings score, Wallace Mubaiwa continued his good form with the ball after taking four wickets for 98 runs in 28 overs while Trevor Gwendu picked up two scalps for 73 runs in 13.4 overs. Captain Roy Kaia, Bright Chipungu and Spencer Magodo took one wicket each for the Elton Chigumbura-coached team.
Chinmay Sutar did the damage for Omtex with the bat, scoring 204 runs off 218 deliveries while Tanvis fell for 69 runs from 107 balls. Dushyant Kushwah fell nine runs short of his half-century on 41 runs after facing 91 deliveries as they helped their side take control of the match.
In Zimbabwe’s first innings, Tafadzwa Tsiga top scored with 52 runs from 77 deliveries while Kaia fell for 29 runs from 42 balls. The only other batter to cross double figures was Magodo with 10 runs as the Minor Chevrons struggled with the bat.
After being sent in to follow on in the second innings, Tsiga top scored once again with another half-century before he was caught for 53 runs off 142 balls.
Christophe Masike remained undefeated on 38 runs having faced 98 balls while Ali Hamid was bowled for 22 runs off 44 balls as Zimbabwe suffered their third defeat.
Tanvis starred with the ball for the hosts, taking a five-wicket haul to finish with figures of 5/58 in 24, 2 overs.

Manas Chavan and Kartik Mishra took two scalps each while Shivam Bagdi took one to wrap up the series.
