THE Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) are officially back, gearing up for their 14th edition, set to take place in December at a venue and date to be announced.

This year’s awards will be a blend of virtual and traditional formats, aiming to celebrate the vibrant and diverse landscape of Zimbabwean hip-hop.

Aldrian “Beefy” Harrison, founder and director of ZHHA, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, emphasising its role as a leading authority on Zimbabwe’s hip-hop culture.

“Our mission is to use elements of popular youth culture and media to inspire, motivate and empower young musicians by acknowledging and celebrating local artistes in their respective genres,” he stated.

Harrison said this year’s edition promises to be particularly special, with several exciting developments in store including a new partnership between ZHHA and the House of Arts Association, which will manage and curate the brand moving forward. Also, there will be an introduction of a new category for Spoken Word, which will provide a platform for this expressive art form.

Beefy confirmed that submissions are open to artistes interested in performing at the awards. He encouraged them to submit their biographies and proposed performance materials to [email protected].
