ZIMBABWE is fully embracing technological innovations across the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector through preparing for this year’s edition of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) competition.
The 2025 WRO season, themed “The Future of Robots,” is underway, with teams from several countries exploring how robotics can solve global challenges and improve daily life.
The international finals will be hosted in Singapore from November 26 to 28.

Competitions in Zimbabwe have been held in eight provinces after the launch in Bulawayo province in February.
Matabeleland North province is hosting the competition on Monday and Tuesday (today) at Mosi Oa Tunya High Scjool in Victoria Falls while Matabeleland South province will close off the provincial competitions on May 15 at St Christopher’s Primary School in Gwanda district.
The national finals will be held from May 28 to 30 in Bulawayo. The WRO competition is being initiated by the Girls in STEM Trust.
Officiating at the official launch of the competition recently, ICT, Postal and Courier Deputy Minister Dingumuzi Phuti said the event represents a significant
step forward in realising the future of technology and innovation for the young minds of Zimbabwe.
