ZIMBABWE has emerged as the leading source of investment enquiries handled by the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) in the third quarter of 2025 underscoring rising domestic investor confidence and growing interest in the country’s economic opportunities.
According to the Agency, a total of 148 investment enquiries were recorded during the review period, with Zimbabwe accounting for nearly half (72 enquiries; 49 percent).
This strong showing highlights increasing local engagement in national investment activities.
“The Agency recorded 148 investment enquiries, with Zimbabwe accounting for nearly half (72 enquiries; 49 percent), highlighting strong domestic investor interest. South Africa (8 percent) and the United Kingdom (7 percent) followed, while 22 percent of enquiries were unspecified, reflecting both local engagement and a broadening base of international attention,” said ZIDA.
The enquiries were dominated by mining, agriculture and energy sectors aligning with Zimbabwe’s economic priorities and global trends in resource development, food security and renewable energy.
“Enquiries were dominated by the mining, agriculture and energy sectors, consistent with Zimbabwe’s national development priorities and global demand trends in natural resources, food security and renewable energy,” the agency added.
“The continued rise in local investor participation underscores growing confidence in the Agency’s facilitation framework and the overall investment climate,” ZIDA said.
The Agency noted that sustained efforts to strengthen targeted promotion and structured engagement would be crucial in translating enquiries into concrete projects and capital inflows.
“Going forward, strengthening sector-specific outreach, targeted promotion and structured follow-up mechanisms will be critical to converting these enquiries into active investment projects and tangible capital inflows,” it said.
The development comes as Zimbabwe continues to attract attention from both domestic and foreign investors seeking opportunities across key productive sectors in line with the country’s Vision 2030 goals of achieving an upper middle-income economy.
