Zimbabwe Motor Show at the Borrowdale Racecourse.
The event, which is making a comeback after a 10-year hiatus, is being organised by the motor trade through the Motor Industry Association of Zimbabwe.
The funds raised during the two-day show will benefit the association. Activities during the show will feature various displays by different motor vehicle suppliers, outdoor adventure suppliers, vehicle and insurance companies, tyres, parts and accessories manufacturers and suppliers.
Other companies that will be participating include vehicle rescue firms, fuel companies and suppliers of a wide range of goods and services within the motor trade.
Clubs belonging to the Zimbabwe Motor Sports Federation have been invited to take up complementary stands and the Motor Industry Association of Zimbabwe.
Marine products such as boats will be on show, too, adding to the variety and appeal to the consumer.
Mr Carl Varga, a spokesman for the organising team, said this would be the first national motor show since the late 1990s.
“This will be an event that is aimed at the entire community and there will be something for everyone to see and enjoy, including displays, entertainment, catering, competitions and general activities surrounding the core of the event, which will, of course, be the cars, trucks and buses on show. The first day, Friday May 13, will be a trade day reserved for business people only but the following day, Saturday May 14, will be open to the public from 8am until 7pm,” he said.
Confirmed exhibitors at present include industry leaders such as Toyota Zimbabwe, Nissan Zimbabwe, Willowvale Mazda Motor Industries, Zimoco, Duly’s and other representatives of the world’s leading motor trade brands.
Activities related to the products and services on display will be held in the motor show area, ranging from children’s exposure to games and toys, through to testing of vehicles in off-road and on-road conditions.
