Zimbabwe National Army hosts Traditional Leaders Day in Kariba, celebrating chiefs and community bonding

The Zimbabwe National Army is leading festivities to mark Traditional Leaders Day in Mashonaland West Province, which has brought together traditional leaders and the Kariba community.

At least 30 chiefs from the province’s seven districts are gathered at the Boat Regiment in Kariba, where they are expected to get food hampers.

The day celebrates the symbiotic relations between the ZNA and traditional leaders throughout history, including physical and spiritual guidance in the theatre of war during the war of liberation.

Chief of Staff General Staff Major General Augustine Chipwere is the guest of honour. Service Chiefs, including Jason Ziyapapa Moyo Air Force Base Commander, Air Commodore Ellen Chiweshe, Commander Mechanised Brigade Brigadier-General Raban Nikisi

and representatives from the Zimbabwe Republic Police and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services are in attendance.

The Crocodile Band and traditional dance clubs from schools in Kariba are entertaining the gathering.
