THE Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) will conduct the First Quarter Labour-Force Survey (QLFS) from 12 to 26 March.

The survey follows the recently completed household listing exercise.

In a statement, ZimStat public relations and communication officer, Mr Roland Chiringa said the survey will collect high-frequency labour market statistics to inform policy formulation, decision-making, human capital development strategies and compilation of Quarterly Gross Domestic Product (GDP), among other key uses.

“The survey also provides key labour market indicators that include but are not limited to employment levels, both formal and informal, unemployment, labour underutilisation, income levels, and labour migration and job losses.

“The Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) will be conducted in all provinces under the provisions of the Census and Statistics Act [Chapter 10:29]. Information collected from the survey is strictly confidential and will be used solely for statistical purposes,” he said.

He said field personnel will carry official letters and personal identity cards for ease of identification. He appealed for cooperation from all sampled households concerning this exercise.
