ZIMBABWE Saints have been suspended from the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts league after they failed to pay their outstanding affiliation fees. Cash-strapped Zimbabwe Saints were allowed to play in the first half of the season after only paying half the fees.
Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts League organising secretary Lethukuthula Nkomo confirmed the latest developments.
“Zimbabwe Saints did not play their mid-week fixture because they are suspended for not paying outstanding fees.

“We had agreed that they were going to pay their outstanding fees during the second half of the season but they failed,” said Nkomo.
He said they would be walked over in every fixture they won’t fulfill while suspended.

In an interview yesterday, Zimbabwe Saints captain Carl Bazly said they were trying to raise the outstanding fees.
“We hope we will be able to raise the required amount and return to the league. We are supposed to meet our sponsor today (yesterday),” said Bazly.

Meanwhile, league matches continued on Wednesday night with ZRP Bulawayo collecting maximum points from their suspended opponents Zimbabwe Saints.

Championship chasing Railstars crushed Bellevue 28-11 as they seek to keep up with pacesetters Archers.
Railstars captain Charles Wadzisa said they played a fantastic game and they hope to maintain the good performance in their upcoming matches.

“We played well, we want to maintain our form so that we can challenge for the championship,” said Wadzisa.
Maisonic won 21-18 against Khami Prison while Old Nic thumped Parkview Lion 28-11.
The clash between Highlanders and Archers was postponed and will now be played on Monday.
