ZIMBABWE made a notable impact at the Cape Town Leisure Tourism Roadshow, positioning itself as a competitive and compelling destination on the Southern African travel circuit.

Hosted by Travel Marketing South Africa (TME-SA), the premier travel trade showcase attracted over 120 leisure tourism buyers from the Western Cape and featured 25 exhibitors offering a diverse mix of travel products and services.

“With over 120 leisure tourism buyers from the Western Cape in attendance and 25 exhibitors showcasing diverse travel services, the platform proved ideal for Zimbabwe to engage directly with key players in the market,” Zimbabwe Tourism Authority posted on its official X account.

Zimbabwe’s presence was strengthened by a significant announcement from African Travel Concept, a leading Cape Town-based destination management company (DMC), which confirmed the rollout of weekly group tours incorporating Zimbabwe as part of a tri-country package alongside South Africa and Botswana.

“Notably, African Travel Concept, a major Cape Town-based DMC, revealed ongoing weekly group tours featuring Zimbabwe as part of a tri-country package alongside South Africa and Botswana, covering destinations like Beitbridge, Gweru, Bulawayo, Hwange and Victoria Falls, running through December 2025.”

This development is expected to positively influence arrivals into Zimbabwe, especially as regional travel continues to recover and grow.

Buyers and travel agents praised Zimbabwe’s active participation and called for continuous engagement in similar platforms to sustain visibility and drive bookings.

“This participation forms a vital part of Zimbabwe’s strategy to build strong travel trade partnerships and cement its position as a must-visit, multifaceted destination in Southern Africa,” ZTA added.

The tri-country tours are poised to enhance tourist flows into Zimbabwe’s key attractions, supporting the broader goals of the National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy.

Zimbabwe’s tourism sector has been on a rebound, with improved international air connectivity, investment in infrastructure and increased promotion across digital and trade platforms contributing to the upward trend.

Participation in regional tourism roadshows forms part of Zimbabwe’s broader strategy to reposition itself as a hub for cultural, adventure and eco-tourism within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
