Zimbabwe took advantage of the recent 20th India Africa Business Conclave in New Delhi, India, to showcase its investment opportunities in various economic sectors.

The event, which took place from August 27 to 29, provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration between senior ministers, policymakers, and business leaders from Africa and India.

Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Deputy Minister, Vangelis Haritatos said the country highlighted investment opportunities in agriculture, water, energy, skills development, transport, infrastructure and health.

“Zimbabwe presented a US$750 million business case for irrigation development to utilise its vast dams,” he said.

“The country also showcased its quest for value addition to transform its raw products into high-value finished products.

“In the horticulture sector, Zimbabwe requires US$800 million to unlock US$2,43 billion of annual output and create 590 000 new jobs.

“The Conclave provided an opportunity for Zimbabwe to attract investments and collaborations that can boost its economy and create new opportunities for growth and development.”
