THE Zimbabwe Under-14 national tennis team is seeking funding to travel to Togo for the Confederation of African tennis tournament scheduled for 11 to 22 March.
The eight young stars qualified for the continental tournament after coming out tops in the Southern African Zonal qualifiers held in Harare in January.

“The Bulawayo Metropolitan Tennis Board would like to bring to your attention that the Zimbabwe Under-14 girls and boys tennis team listed below have qualified for the African Junior Championship Finals (CAT) tournament to be held in Lome, Togo.
“We therefore are appealing for financial assistance for them to be able to travel to the aforementioned AJC Finals tournament. The budget per player is US$2 545,00. The total budget for the entire team is US$15 270,00. Any assistance towards reaching this target will be greatly appreciated. We are confident that the team will perform to the best of their ability as they continue to develop their skills,” said Bulawayo Metropolitan Tennis Board chairman Tarwirwa Raggs Chikunichawa in a letter to potential sponsors.
The team is made up of Dylan Tendekai Musabaka, Bradley Nyamunokora, Grant Kudiwanashe Matambo, Tariro Chanelle Zhuwakini, Zinzile Robin Akeelah Khanye, Emma Simphiwe Malunguza, George Emmly Lebogang and Isaac Nyoni.
