ZIMBABWEAN gospel artistes Tatenda Mahachi, Eleana Makombe, Everton Mlalazi and Canaan Nyathi have been nominated for the 19th Icebolethu Crown Gospel Music Awards, which are set for November 15 at the Durban ICC in South Africa.
Nyathi received two nominations, in the Male Gospel Artist and Best Artist of the Year categories.
In the Male Gospel Artist category, he will compete against Sibusiso Nzima, Ntokozo Ngongoma and Kgethang Konese.
In the Best Artist of the Year category, Nyathi is nominated alongside Breakthrough Worship ZA, Elle Tisane and Kgethang Konese.
The United Kingdom-based Makombe is nominated in the Best of Africa Female category alongside Nothando Hlophe, Nothando Dlamini and Shekinah Motsa, all from Eswatini, as well as Botswana’s Sesame.
Mlalazi and Mahachi will battle it out in the Best of Africa Male category alongside Eswatini’s Sphiwo Ndoni and Botswana’s Edson Matavele.
The nominations come as Zimbabwean Gospel artistes continue to make their mark on the regional gospel music scene.
