THE number of artistes proudly flying the Zimbabwean flag across borders is on the rise, including comedians, models, musicians, actors and authors.

Among them is Kudakwashe Muganu, a Zimbabwean author based in South Africa, whose book, The Power of Wisdom, was recently approved by the Gauteng Department of Education.

In an interview, Muganu was excited by his book’s inclusion in local libraries and schools across Gauteng.

“It’s a huge achievement for me to penetrate the South African industry through literature,” he stated.

Muganu identifies himself as a communicator, motivational speaker, preacher and counsellor, expressing his views through art.

“I’m an author of two books, an international speaker, a certified life coach, a philanthropist, and an entrepreneur. My main focus is to improve, add value, and transform people’s lives through my words. I specialise in self-development books because they are a perfect channel for accomplishing my mission,” he said.

According to Muganu, the book addresses readers of all ages because wisdom is essential for everyone.

“Wisdom is not a want; it’s a need. Many people lose opportunities, waste time, destroy their reputations, and even die prematurely simply because they lack wisdom. My book is a tool that can help individuals live prosperous lives in both good and bad times.

“Life is not just about what happens to you; it’s how you respond to situations that matters most.”

He further described his book as a journey for individuals to discover their purpose.

“Many people mimic what others do instead of focusing on their own destinies. While we learn from each other, we’re all unique in different ways. Wisdom is about knowing yourself better than anyone else.

“Knowing others is enlightenment, but knowing yourself is power. People who know themselves are world-shakers.”

His book also addresses pressing societal issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, crime, school drop-outs and teenage pregnancy.

“I strongly believe my book can serve as a remedy to reduce these tragedies affecting our society.”

His passion for books and writing began at a young age.

“I loved reading books across various fields, unknowingly equipping myself with valuable information.

After being born again, I discovered my purpose, realising that writing was part of my assignment on this earth.”

He said his motivations extend beyond fame, financial gain or awards.

“I’m fulfilling my calling before I leave this earth. The gift of writing is bigger than me. Writing is a powerful tool that can educate, motivate, entertain or comfort others.”

Muganu is also an award-winning author who has spoken at prestigious events, including the City of Ekurhuleni event in Gauteng, South Africa.
