The Mauritian Government has offered scholarships to Zimbabwean students willing to study in that country.
The Vice President of Mauritius Marie Boissezon extended the offer after paying a courtesy call to Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga here.
The duo is in India for this year’s Africa Conclave on India-Africa Partnership that was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
Speaking after paying a courtesy call on VP Chiwenga, VP Boissezon said they discussed the need for economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and Mauritian.
“We discussed how we can increase the economic cooperation between Zimbabwe and Mauritian. Africa as a whole needs to be self-sufficient in terms of food.
“Mauritian also offers university scholarships for Africans and we have also asked students from Zimbabwe to take this opportunity and come to study in Mauritius,” said VP Boissezon.
According to a recent World Education Forum report, Mauritian ranks third out of the 38 African countries surveyed in terms of education systems and skills development.
