Zimbabweans commended for adapting to climate change

Zimbabwe is a doing a  good job in supporting initiatives  aimed at introducing innovative climate change adaptation strategies to offset its negative effects.
This was said by the World Meteorological Organisation secretary-general, Mr Michel Jarraud, who is in the country to attend the second African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology, when he paid a courtesy call on Vice President Joice Mujuru at her Munhumutapa offices yesterday.

Mr Jarraud said his organisation was grateful for the role being played by Zimbabwe in supporting activities being undertaken by the Global Framework for Climate Services to develop and incorporate science-based climate information.

“The pilot project being undertaken in Africa is yielding positive results because of co-operation from countries such as Zimbabwe,” he said.
Zimbabwe is chairing the African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology which started on Monday and ends today.
