Zimbabwe’s industrialisation trajectory continue to grow as evidenced by increased investment in the manufacturing sector, steady rise in export performance and new technological advancement.
This was said by Industry and Commerce Minister Mangaliso Ndovu today in his address to delegates attending the Industrialisation Conference and Expo 2026 being held in Harare.
He said various intervention policy measures made by the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa has given impetus to the attainment of an Upper Middle Income Economy by 2030.
“This conference brings stakeholders to discuss national imperatives about Zimbabwe industrialisation agenda. The theme captures the strategic direction Zimbabwe has taken under the Second Republic that include investing in the value chain, technological advancement,” said Minister Ndovu.
He commended President Mnangagwa for steering the economy in a manner that uplifted lives of ordinary persons.
“Under your visionary leadership industrialisation has been at the centre stage of economic growth through several policies and other reforms to restore productive capacity, and installed capacity among others,” he said.
Minister Ndlovu said industry had shown great resilience.
He said while the manufacturing sector has celebrated new technology there was need for greater collaboration among all stakeholders under the Whole Government and Society Approach.
