One of Zimbabweas foremost fashion designers, Nkululeko Ncube of Ara Kani was last week joined by model Shadel Noble in representing Zimbabwe at the prestigious Lexus South African Menswear Week.
Ncube and Noble joined some of Africaas luminaries in the world of fashion as the continentas finest designers came together to showcase their autumn and winter collections.
Lexus South African Menswear Week is Africaas only stand-alone platform dedicated to the development and promotion of menswear within the African continent. A series of shows over four days, only the best of menswear is invited to be on the schedule each season.
Curated by leading industry experts, the SAMW panel selects and invites the best of established and upcoming designers to participate each season.
Modelled heavily on the worldas leading platform, London Fashion Week Menas, SAMW takes place each season within interesting, unexplored settings.
It was Ncubeas second participation at the fashion week in as many years and he said that like last year, the current edition would stand him in good stead for what lies ahead.
a?February is just the beginning of the year, so we wanted to present pieces that will represent the brands Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection. This allows our clients to see what they should expect and also order from us. The Lexus SA Menswear Week is always a great platform to take out oneas work, and our experience with them is always a pleasure,a? he said.
Noble was also elated at his first time participation.
a?As somewhat of a newcomer it is always great to find yourself in platforms like this. My participation at this yearas menswear week will be something that I will treasure for a long time,a? he said.
