Zimpapers board chair Mrs Doreen Sibanda has praised the launch of the organisation’s integrated newsroom as a bold step into the future of journalism and a significant milestone in modernising Zimbabwe’s media landscape.

In her address this afternoon as Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere commissioned the new newsroom, Mrs Sibanda emphasised that this launch represents more than just a technological upgrade, adding that it is an opportunity to redefine how Zimpapers serves its audiences.

“The new digital and mobile-first newsroom is designed to deliver content that is platform-agnostic, data-driven, and responsive to the rapidly changing needs of readers and viewers,” said Mrs Sibanda.

She outlined three key commitments guiding this transition, that is delivering credible, timely and engaging content across platforms; leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies for deeper audience insight; and upholding high journalistic standards while embracing innovation.

Mrs Sibanda also noted that the new set up reflects Zimpapers’ dedication to national priorities, encapsulated by the principle of “leaving no one and no place behind.”
“This commitment ensures that both urban and rural communities have access to accurate and empowering information, reinforcing Zimpapers’ role as a vital source of news and knowledge in Zimbabwe,” she said.
