The donation was a belated Father’s Day gift meant to make the elderly men feel special and appreciated. The donated goods included mealie-meal, cooking oil, sugar and soap.

Speaking during the handover ceremony the  branch’s general manager, Mr Walter Chipwaya  said the donation was not going to be the last as the company was going to continue to assist the elderly.

“This will definitely not be last time, we will come here again. We will continue to help the elderly in our communities,” said Mr Chipwaya.

Zimpapers branch sales and marketing manager Mr Kenny Zihumo said the donation was a way of giving back to the community.

“The donation was meant to cheer you up on Father’s Day so that you feel special and appreciated. It is our small way of giving back to the community we operate in,” he said.

Mr Zihumo thanked Wephamgate, Jacobs Association and Tepidity for sourcing the foodstuffs.
