ZIMPAPERS Bulawayo Branch continues to shine as one of its photo journalists Fortune Muzarabani scooped the 2017 Best Environment Photo Journalist award at the Environmental Awards held in Harare on Wednesday.

The awards ceremony was organised by Environment Africa.

Muzarabani who covers all Zimpapers’ publications in Bulawayo, said he felt honoured by winning the award and would continue to work hard.

He beat photo journalists from around the country and his winning picture was a collage depicting a health time bomb in the form of raw sewage flowing through residential areas in Cowdray Park, Emakhandeni and Emganwini suburbs.

“I feel honoured by winning this award and all credit goes to the team, especially The Chronicle editorial that have played a huge part in my career. I also want to thank the Lord who has been good to me all the time.

“To my family and colleagues I dedicate this award to you because you were always there for me even when the chips were down. I feel immensely humbled by this award and it shows that my hard work is being recognised,” said Muzarabani.

He challenged up-and-coming photo journalists to take their craft seriously because they are the eyes of the community as they use a camera to immortalise memories for future generations. — @Kiyaz_Cool
