Zimpapers is working closely with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to promote media clubs in schools.
Learners from Muzarabani Primary School attended the event.
Zimpapers Corporate Communications and Sustainability Manager Mrs Pauline Matanda and Zimpapers Mashonaland Central Bureau Fungai Lupande gave learners insights into journalism and the media.
They explained the importance of newspapers and encouraged learners to read more and take their education seriously.
Learners also asked questions about journalism and how newspapers are made.
Muzarabani Primary School head, Mr Jacob Chikayiwa, gave an example of a newspaper story.
His example was funny and helped learners understand how to write a good story.
Mrs Matanda explained how the Media Club will work.
“The club will help learners improve their writing, reporting and communication skills,” she said.
Learners thanked Zimpapers and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for the insights.
They hope the Media Club will help them discover and develop their talents in journalism.
