ZIMPAPERS Mutare is set to host its sixth annual schools expo at Mutare Hall today (Friday), offering high school learners, parents, and teachers a unique opportunity to explore educational opportunities and plan for the future.
The event, which runs from 9am to 3pm, promises to be an interactive platform for learning, networking, and discovering the full spectrum of academic programmes in Zimbabwe.
The expo will feature a variety of institutions, including major universities such as Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) and Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS).
Visitors will be able to speak directly with representatives, collect brochures, and even attend mini-presentations on different courses and programmes.
Commenting on the event, Diamond FM’s head of marketing, Mr Peter Madondo, who is part of the coordinating committee for the expo, said entrance is free.
Mr Madondo stressed the importance of the event for learners preparing for their next steps after high school.
“This schools expo is all about helping learners make informed decisions about their future. It gives them the chance to engage directly with universities, colleges, and other educational institutions, learn about the programmes on offer, and understand the pathways available to them. For many learners, this could be the start of a journey that shapes their careers and aspirations,” he said.
Mr Madondo said the expo has grown in popularity over the past six years, attracting both local and regional institutions.
“This is our sixth year running, and every year we have seen more learners, parents, and educators attending. It is a testament to the importance of planning ahead and ensuring that learners are aware of the options available to them. We encourage learners to come with questions and explore all that the event has to offer. Learn about their programmes, and all they have to share, and find the perfect fit,” he said, adding that for parents and teachers, the expo is an excellent opportunity to engage with educators and gain insight into the academic and career pathways available to learners, as it provides a platform to ask questions, clarify admission requirements, and discuss programme suitability with university staff and administrators.
Mr Madondo encouraged attendees to make the most of the free admission and to come prepared to engage actively with the exhibitors.
“Learners should come ready to explore, ask questions, and discover what each institution has to offer. Planning your future starts with gathering the right information,” he said.
