Zimpapers secretaries mark day with pomp

The company’s Human Resources Manager Mr Nyasha Nyamapfeni said: “Personal/administrative assistants are the interface of every organisation. As such, the company places high value on the role you play, hence this recognition.
“Take this opportunity to reflect on your performance, more so now when the company is undergoing Balanced Score Card implementation. Stay focused, reshape and continually improve,” he said.
Mr Nyamapfeni said Zimpapers offered educational loans for those intending to undergo further training in their respective fields of employment.
He encouraged the personal and administrative assistants to anticipate company growth.
He said the company strives to do its best in recognition of outstanding performances as this would build trust among management and employees.
The day is celebrated worldwide in honour of secretaries for the work they do.
Former Secretary for National Secretaries Convention, Mrs Abigail Zvinavashe, said the day is usually celebrated during the first week of September.
“It is a day when personal/administrative assistants take a break from the office to share and learn new technologies or just relax over lunch,” she said.
Companies in Harare marked the day in different ways, with some inviting music superstar Oliver Mtukudzi and talkshow host Amai Rebecca Chisamba.
