ZIMBABWE’S leading media house, Zimpapers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, is set to host a high-powered engagement celebrating women’s contributions at every hierarchical level of society and the economy.

The event will be held in Bulawayo tomorrow under the theme “Celebrating Excellence and Leadership in a Transforming Economy — Women Driving Zimbabwe’s Rise.”

Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, is expected to deliver the keynote address.

The initiative comes as Zimbabwe continues to harness the transformative role of women across key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, mining, technology, tourism and entrepreneurship, where they are increasingly shaping economic growth, innovation and community development.

The event coordinator Mrs Hilda Marijeni said the engagement will also spotlight the growing influence of women-led initiatives that are strengthening local industries and driving inclusive economic transformation.

“While senior leadership is often visible, it is the supervisors, technicians, administrative staff and entry-level professionals who translate strategy into tangible results day in, day out. Their innovation, resilience and dedication sustain operations, improve productivity and nurture future talent,” she said.

“Zimpapers is hosting this event to honour the full spectrum of women’s contributions to celebrate not only executives but also the often-unsung heroes at supervisor level and below, whose impact ripples across the Zimbabwean economy.”

Mrs Marijeni said the objective of the event is to celebrate women’s contributions at every hierarchical level and create a platform for networking, mentorship and partnerships across sectors.

“The event will also highlight women-led initiatives boosting local industries such as agriculture, technology, manufacturing, mining and tourism, while inspiring the next generation of female leaders by showcasing role models from entry-level to executive positions,” she said.

As the country’s leading media house, Zimpapers has a responsibility to shine the spotlight on women who are making a difference in their workplaces, communities and industries. Through initiatives such as this one, Zimpapers aims to ensure stories are told and contributions celebrated at every level.

Zimpapers continues to play a pivotal role in amplifying the achievements of women through diverse media platforms, highlighting innovations, leadership and entrepreneurial success stories that are shaping Zimbabwe’s economic future.

“Beyond celebration, the event seeks to build meaningful networks that can unlock opportunities for women in business, leadership and innovation while encouraging young girls and upcoming professionals to pursue their ambitions with confidence.”

Women leaders, executives, entrepreneurs, Government officials, development partners, corporates investing in women’s empowerment, as well as women supervisors, technicians and entry-level staff are expected to attend.

The engagement is expected to amplify the message that women are central to the country’s socio-economic transformation, not only as leaders and entrepreneurs but also as innovators, professionals and community builders whose contributions sustain industries, empower families and shape the country’s development trajectory.
