Zimpapers will on March 30 host the BoldAds Events Women’s Masterclass Luncheon that is expected to bring together women from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences. In a statement, Zimpapers Group spokesperson Ms Beatrice Tonhodzayi said the event, which will be held at Capitalk Gardens in Chisipite, would put the lid on March, the women’s month.
“The event, which will close off Women’s Month, seeks to celebrate women in their diversity and provide a platform for sharing life stories and lessons by women to women,” she said.
Ms Tonhodzayi said the luncheon was a continuation of the “I am my sisters keeper high tea” that the group hosted last year.
“We want women to thrive and become self-sufficient and promote a new breed of women leaders and business women that will inspire others with their stories,” she said
The programme will be held under the theme, “Think equal, build smart, and innovate for change’”
Ms Tonhodzayi said various influential women would be sharing how they managed to succeed from humble beginnings.
“Speakers lined up for the event are Tyra Chikocho-Munetswa popularly known as Madam Boss; a comedian and entrepreneur who will give a testimonial of how she broke the shackles of being looked down upon due to her background, having started off as a housemaid,” she said.
“We also have Cresta Hotels Group business development manager Tersh Makamanzi, Women’s Microfinance Bank of Zimbabwe chief executive Mandas Marikanda, Blessing Mashangwa, an entrepreneur who is behind Oceane Collection Fragrances and Michelle Kawome, an entrepreneur with a fashion inclination.”
Ms Tonhodzayi implored women to attend the event so that they can share their challenges and hurdles.
“Women are succumbing to depression and other health conditions due to the pressures of life without any outlet,” she said.
“Women today are so busy, working alongside men across the different sectors, raising children and managing their homes.
“They are working in the fields, they are doing everything. It becomes a bit too much at times.”
Ms Tonhodzayi said registration was in progress, with tickets selling at $50 per individual and $450 for a table.
