Zimpapers to the rescue

THREE organisations yesterday leapt to the rescue of an Epworth woman who was recently blessed with triplets, but was facing challenges providing for them.

Touched by her plight, Zimpapers through its vernacular paper Kwayedza, TM Pick n Pay and the Twins Association of Zimbabwe gave Mrs Mercy Nyakudya food, baby clothes, money and nine blankets.

Ms Nyakudya approached Kwayedza to publish her plight, saying her husband was a vendor and due to economic hardship, it had become difficult for him to provide for the triplets.

Handing over the donation, TM Pick n Pay marketing manager Paidamoyo Mhazo thanked consumers who promoted their business, enabling them to assist those in need.

“As TM Pick n Pay we would like to thank all our customises with their support which then gives this opportunity to be able to help those who also wants our help in the community.

“We want to appreciate the good job which is being done by Zimpapers of informing the country on issues like this and we hope our gifts will assist, “she said.

A member of Twins Association of Zimbabwe, Tendai Katonha paid tribute to Zimpapers publication Kwayedza, TM Pick n Pay for helping this triplets.

“As an organisation we are happy with Zimpapers, TM Pick n Pay for the help they offered. We encourage other well-wishers who are willing to help twins, triplets who are facing different challengers to come forth,” he said.

Zimpapers public relations manager Pauline Matanda said the integrated media house was committed to easing the plight of the needy through its various platforms.

“As Zimpapers we have used our platforms, in this case Kwayedza, to call for partnerships to assist this needy woman, that’s what we call citizen journalism. We understand that there are organisations that are interested in partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals SDG17. We will continue using our platforms to assist those in need. A single bracelet does not jingle. We thank TM Pick and Pay for the continued support and hope to partner in many other Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives. We also thank the Twins Association of Zimbabwe and individuals who extended their hands towards the cause. Together as Zimpapers and other corporates and individuals we will continue giving back to marginalised communities in our land,” she said.
