ZimPraise readies Season 16 launch

Interdenominational choral group ZimPraise has announced the date, but not the venue, for their Season 16 DVD launch.

This comes after the revelation that this Saturday they are having a closed visual recording of the 16th edition to selected guests.

Speaking to The Herald Arts, the choral group founder member Joseph Madziyire said; “Yes, we are having the closed session this weekend but the main focus is on Season 16 which will be held on April 1.

“Selected guests are expected to dress the part as our theme is smart casual, earth tone colours.”

Madziyire said that guest performers will also be announced in due course.

Last year the choir released a single titled “Agere Pachigaro” off their live DVD album.

The album, “ZimPraise Season 15: Jesus The Greatest of All”, was launched at Glamis Arena.

The single was performed and led by the rising star Tapiwa Robyn Mafadza who has a powerful voice and heavy stage presence.

“‘Agere Pachigaro’ is a declaration and testimony song that acknowledges the grace of God through circumstances and situations that could have taken us out but through it all, we survived.”

“It is because of the sovereign God who reigns with all power and authority,” said Madziyire.

The praise song was written and directed by Madziyire.

Their launches have been graced by award-winning South African gospel outfit Joyous Celebration Choir, Minister Michael Mahendere, Mathias Mhere, Jonah Chivasa, Marbel Madondo, Eleanor Makombe, Blessing Annatoria, Tawanda Midzi, and Canaan Nyathi among others.

In 2022, the choir disbanded its old setup by doing away with its name together with permanent musicians and vocalists, to pave the way for a new project under the name ZimPraise Legacy Network. The setting up of ZimPraise Legacy Network ended the existence of ZimPraise Choir as its followers have known it since its formation in 2006.

Instead of having permanent members, the choir now fish vocalists and instrumentalists from an academy the leadership envisages setting up under ZimPraise.
