Zimra consoles accident victims

Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has sent a condolence message to families of their staff who perished in a road accident near Beatrice on Tuesday evening.

Four Zimra staff were reportedly killed when their bus had an accident on the 57km peg along the Harare-Masvingo highway.

The staff was on their way to Harare from Beitbridge. 

“It is with a heavy heart that the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) wishes to confirm that a Zimra bus carrying members of staff coming from Beitbridge to Harare was yesterday, Tuesday April 19 2022, involved in a road accident near Corona Shops along the Masvingo Road, approximately 90km from Harare.

Our deepest condolences go out to the families of those who have passed on and our prayers and best wishes are with those still receiving medical attention,” said Zimra in a statement.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirms the accident adding that more details wil be released as investigations progresses. 

“The Zimra bus accident occurred hardly a week after a series of fatal accidents which were recorded during the Easter and Independence holidays with the Chimanimani road accident already declared a national disaster.
