THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has announced the extension of renewal period of clearing agent’s licences for 2025 which was expiring today on 31 October.
The period for applications renewal of clearing agents’ licences for the year 2025 has been extended to 30 November 2024.
In a statement, Zimra noted that the extension has been necessitated by the need to recover the time lost due to challenges encountered in Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) with the rollout of new features.
“The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) wishes to advise all registered Customs Clearing Agents that the period for applications renewal of clearing agents’ licences for the year 2025 has been extended to 30 November 2024,” read the statement.
“The extension has been necessitated by the need to recover the time lost due to challenges experienced in ASYCUDA when new features to the Clearing Agent Module were deployed.”
The revenue authority urged the public to continue airing the challenges that they may be facing as they do the renewal process so that the Issues are looked into promptly.
Zimra is the first revenue authority in the COMESA region to migrate to ASYCUDA World and this has drawn a lot of interest from other countries within the region.
