Zimbabwe’s future rests on the implementation of Education Design 5.0, which leads to productivity in all sectors, Reformed Church of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor Professor Obert Maravanyika has said.

Education Design 5.0 embraced by the Government focuses on university teaching, research, community service, innovation and industrialisation.

Prof Maravanyika applauded the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Professor Amon Murwira for his recent launch of Education 5.0.

He said the new educational design would result in a thoroughly viable economy if well implemented across the country.

“The new educational design is noble, taking into consideration that it drifts away from a mere theoretical approach to practice,” said Prof Maravanyika.

He said the kind of education was unique in that it proffered solutions to socio-economic challenges.

“The approach looks at challenges and proffer workable socio-economic solutions,” said Prof Maravanyika.

“The RCU leadership here is steering the institution towards Education 5.0 which tallies with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administrative efforts to ensure the attainment of an upper middle-income economy by 2030.”
