Zimbabweaï¿½ï¿½s Karen Mukwedeya is on the cusp of glory, as she is poised to become the next presenter on the popular channel, TLC, after she made the three-man shortlist for the finals of the annual presenter search.

It has been a long journey for Mukwedeya, who has managed to outshine over 1 500 other hopefuls who had applied for the potentially lucrative job.

In the finals, Mukwedeya will go head to head with Carissa Cupido from South Africa and Charlie Karumi from Kenya.

Mukwedeya impressed after a four-day boot camp and training sessions, catching the eye of the judges who include South Africaaï¿½ï¿½s Thando Thabethe.

While Mukwedeya has gone this far off the strength of her talent, as of Monday 10 October, the public will have the opportunity to choose TLCaï¿½ï¿½s Next Great Presenter by voting for their favourite from the three finalists. The lucky winner will jet off to London and present a brand new four-part series, TLCaï¿½ï¿½s Most Extreme, set to premiere on TLC Entertainment (Channel 135) early next year, and receive an all-expenses paid holiday to the Palace of the Lost City, courtesy of Sun International.

Voting for the channelaï¿½ï¿½s new presenter comes to a close on 6 November, where the winner will be crowned live at a glitzy event in Johannesburg.
