ZIMTRADE, in partnership with Afreximbank, is hosting the Buyer’s Seminar in Bulawayo, an event meant to bring together buyers from different countries to meet suppliers in the Matabeleland region and the country at large.

The event, now in its second year, provides a platform for meaningful engagement between Zimbabwean exporters, international buyers, and policymakers.
Run under the theme “Rooted Locally, Growing Globally,” this speaks to the growing imperative for Zimbabwean businesses to fully exploit local resources and capabilities while developing competitiveness in international markets

The Buyers Seminar, which started in Harare on Tuesday, has brought together buyers from Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, DRC, Egypt, Angola, Mozambique, Senegal, and Rwanda, amongst other countries.
In his remarks, Zintrade chief executive officer Mr Allan Majuru said the Buyers Seminar is a dynamic platform for forging opportunities and partnerships.

He said the event is not all about contract signing but recognising Zimbabwe’s export capacity.
“I urge all suppliers here to take the opportunity to showcase their goods and services and explore ways to diversify your markets,” said Mr Majuru.
He said last year’s seminar was a success due to the business-to-business meeting, which saw about US$6,5 billion deals being closed.
“This shows that we are not here to talk but to make sure that we get some businesses back home,” he said.
The annual Zimbabwe Exporters Week is a premier event aimed at fostering export growth in the country.
