MARUMO Gallants forward, Junior Zindoga, has the freedom to choose between playing for the Warriors or Bafana Bafana.
Zindoga scored a brilliant individual goal which sent his side into the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup at the expense of AmaZulu on Saturday. The match ended 1-0.
The 26-year-old was rewarded with the Man-of-the-Match award.
It was his second start for the Gallants, having been unveiled by the club last month after ending his union with Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini.
The club are also home to the Warriors duo of Washington Arubi and Daniel Msendami.
The former Yadah Stars hitman is also qualified to play for Bafana Bafana, as he was registered by Marumo Gallants as a South African citizen.
Zindoga has a Zimbabwean father, Regis, and a South African mother, Zenobia.
He told Zimpapers Sport that he dedicated his goal to Zenobia, who was in attendance.
“Scoring is one of the best feelings ever and it means a lot to get the first goal, which ensured we won the game and booked our place in the next round of the competition.
“I want to dedicate that goal to my mother, who was at the stadium, and to the village that is always behind me, especially my uncle Johannes Madhiri.
“I also want to thank my coaches, teammates, and everyone who has been praying for me to be in this position today,” said Zindoga.
He achieved a rare feat during his stay at Yadah Stars, becoming the first player to net a hat-trick two seasons ago.
He remains the only player for the Miracle Boys to hit a hat-trick.
The gangly forward also thanked Arubi and Msendami for helping him get a soft landing at Marumo Gallants.
“Arubi is a great guy with all the experience, he has been helpful and always pushes me to get better. We have also formed a relationship with Msendami, we have a lot of similarities in the way we play and a lot in common.
“Marumo Gallants have a great group of young, talented and experienced players and a technical team who are very welcoming and friendly.
“They also made me feel at home.”
