THE Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development has applauded the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) for providing SMEs with a platform to showcase their goods and services, saying that market linkages are critical for the sector’s growth.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Mavis Sibanda, said this in her remarks during the ZITF workshop for MSMEs held at a local hotel on Thursday.

She said it is important to focus on strengthening market linkages between SMEs and large enterprises, which is critical for integrating SMEs into value chains, enhancing standards, and unlocking new business opportunities.

“Market access remains central to SME growth. Platforms such as ZITF offer invaluable opportunities to showcase products and services, build networks, and establish strategic partnerships,” said Dr Sibbanda.

“I urge you to fully leverage this platform to expand your business horizons.

“I encourage you all to actively participate, engage meaningfully, and share your experiences throughout this workshop. Together, let us build resilient, innovative, and competitive SMEs that will drive industrial growth and contribute to the attainment of Vision 2030.”
