ZNA salutes dedicated officers

Senior officers, men and women of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) have been applauded for their dedication to duty despite operating with limited resources.

In his closing statement read on his behalf by Brigadier-General (Training) Ephias Mahachi after a three-day PSO seminar at Headquarters 2 Infantry Brigade, Chief of Staff (General Staff) Major-General David Sigauke thanked members for their active effort in making the event a success.

“It is my pleasure to officiate at this seminar and I am told that the three days spend on this study seminar was put to good use and meaningful resolutions were given. Important subjects were discussed and participants had an opportunity to interact with various presenters with unique experiences, a measure of our readiness to cope with developing trends of the important aspects in maintenance of regional peace.”

“You had the privilege to share personal experiences with officers who had been deployed on these missions. I am also pleased that you expanded the curriculum to include logistical challenges, gender issues, the effect of culture and beliefs and also the role of traditional leaders in PSO,” he said.

Major-General Sigauke said he cherished the effort shown by senior officers, men and women of the ZNA for making the event a success with minimum resources.

“This seminar was conducted under constraints of resources, we all need to continue working together as we face these challenges. As the military our role is to give confidence to the people of Zimbabwe and the region at large when it comes to the provision of security. Challenges faced should offer us the opportunity to find solutions and think outside the box,” Major-General Sigauke said.
