ZNA troops at Inkomo for national military sports finals

MORE than 1 700 personnel from Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) formations and units nationwide have assembled at Inkomo Garrison for the national Inter-Formations and Units Sports Competition finals.

The event brings together winning teams from the Northern and Southern regions, who qualified through regional tournaments across 14 sporting disciplines.

The last edition of the competition took place at One Brigade in Bulawayo.

Officially launching the games, Commander of the Mechanised Brigade Brigadier-General Raban Nikisi urged participants to compete with discipline and uphold the spirit of fair play.

Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Matatu, Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, is expected to preside over the closing ceremony on Friday.

Participating teams represent key ZNA formations, including 1st to 5th Infantry Brigades, the Presidential Guard, Mechanised and Artillery Brigades, Harare and Bulawayo Military Districts, Masasa Logistics Garrison, and specialised regiments such as Commando, Parachute, Mounted, and Air Defence.
