She will be deputised by Mr Crispen Mugova and Mr Peter Khumalo as first and second vice chairpersons respectively.
The elections on Friday also saw new executive members from the business community in Bulawayo being elected.
The executive members are Messrs Jabulani Nkomo, Golden Muoni, Ngoni Mazango, Arnold Moyo, Raphael Chitrin, Martin Mavhira, Tshidzanani Malaba, Raji Modi, Peter Mugodhi, Devine Ngwenya, Dr McLean Bhala, Mrs Beauty Bhulu and Mrs Thoko Ndlovu.
Mrs Moyo said the new executive would ensure that the image of ZNCC was taken to higher levels during their term of office which expires next year.
“The new executive will ensure that the chamber becomes the centre of information for business opportunities, investors, and tenders, among others. The executive will also focus on encouraging members of the chamber to form consortiums to take up opportunities that arise in the city of Bulawayo due to de-industrialisation and indigenisation,” she said.
Mrs Moyo said the new executive would embark on an extensive membership drive in Bulawayo with a specific target of multi-sectoral representation within organisations in sectors that include banking, insurance, transport, retail and parastatals.
In the past few years, Bulawayo has suffered de-industrialisation due to the adverse economic climate that prevailed before the liberalisation of the economy in February 2009.
As a result of the economic turmoil Zimbabwe went through, a number of companies in Bulawayo have either scaled down operations or closed down with more than 20 000 workers reportedly having lost their jobs.
