Speaking at the just-ended Agricultural Show, Tinotenda Mutubuki who is the ZNFPC marketing and public relations officer said they formed this one-stop- shop to make it convenient especially for those living in remote areas.
“We operate under an Act of Parliament and we are found in all provinces where we provide family panning services as well as trainings. We have youth centres and we do not turn them away when they need our services because it is their right to acquire them,” she said.
ZNFPC would be offering free jadelle insertion and removal at Five Avenue Clinic on August 30 and 1, 7, 8, 9 September.
Jadelle is a set of two small, plastic capsules containing one hormone called progesterone and the capsules are implanted in the upper arm and they slowly release hormones into the blood.
This family planning method which was once named (the implant Norplant) usually lasts for five years and begins working 24 hours after it is inserted but can be removed at anytime if one decides to have children.
Mutubuki discouraged people from buying family planning contraceptives from unregistered outlets.
