Zimbabwe is set to host a high-level delegation from global investment giant Zotus Group from May 9 to 14, 2025, as the international development powerhouse seeks to explore large-scale investment opportunities in infrastructure and key sectors of the economy.
The delegation will include Zotus Group Ambassador and former Liverpool and England football star Emile Heskey, who will be part of the team engaging with top Government officials and local private sector leaders during the week-long mission.
Zotus Group, which has established a strong footprint across Africa and Asia, is renowned for spearheading transformational projects, including the US$50 billion Zotus City smart city initiative in partnership with the Government of Botswana.
The upcoming visit to Zimbabwe is part of the group’s strategic expansion across Africa, as it positions itself at the forefront of the continent’s development agenda.
“Infrastructure is the foundation of economic transformation,” said Mr Heskey.
“It is a privilege to be part of a team that is driving real change across the continent. I am excited to witness the potential Zimbabwe holds and how Zotus can play a role in unlocking that future.”
During the visit, the Zotus team — working in partnership with senior stakeholders from the United Arab Emirates — will engage local authorities and business leaders to identify opportunities for high-impact projects that can support national growth and deliver long-term socio-economic benefits.
Zotus Group chief executive Mr Davison Simango, a Zimbabwean by birth, said the return to his homeland was more than a business visit, describing it as a personal mission to contribute meaningfully to the country’s transformation.
“It is an incredible privilege to return home, not just as a son of Zimbabwe, but as a partner in progress,” he said.
“This country raised me, shaped me, and gave me my first dreams. Now, I return with the global reach and resources of Zotus Group to help build the Zimbabwe we all know is possible.
“This journey is deeply personal, and I’m proud that we can play a role in unlocking new opportunities for our people, our economy, and our future.”
Zotus Group’s presence in Zimbabwe comes at a time when the Second Republic is actively courting global investors to participate in the country’s infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors as part of broader efforts to revitalise the economy and improve livelihoods.
The Group’s approach focuses on connecting visionary governments with global capital, expertise and strategic partnerships to deliver inclusive development at scale.
Zotus Group officials are expected to tour potential investment sites and meet with a wide range of stakeholders during their stay. More details on their programme will be released in due course.
