ZPC Kariba were held to a draw by visiting Bulawayo Chiefs at their fortress, Nyamhunga Stadium, in what proved to be a game of two halves that could have gone either way.

The home team held a slight edge in the first half before the visitors crept back into the game in the second period.

Bulawayo Chiefs could have scored at least a goal past the jittery ZPC defence but as they head back home, they will curse their luck.

ZPC on their part have been struggling for goals and have failed to score in their recent matches which has put pressure on coach Godfrey Tamirepi.

It is understood that Tamirepi has now been given a two-match ultimatum to try and turn things around.

Tamirepi will no doubt have been disappointed by yesterday’s result as he seeks to retain his job.

Neither side could conjure a way to win and in the end a draw was probably the fairest result.

The visitors ended the game with 10 men after Tinashe Chiunye was sent off for a harsh tackle on ZPC Kariba’s Simbarashe Gorogojo in the 80th minute.

The ZPC Kariba forwards then tried to take utilise their numerical advantage but their onslaught on the visitors did not yield fruit.

Chiefs’ Portuguese coach Nilton Terroso said he was happy with the way his team played but  questioned some of the refereeing decisions that went against his side.
