ZPSC condemns Israel military raids on Palestine

THE Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council (ZPSC) has condemned Israeli military raids on Palestinian civil society and human rights groups.

In a statement, ZPSC said the attacks on Palestinian people and their civic society organisations by Israel was uncalled for.

“The Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine strongly condemns the raids and subsequent confiscation of equipment conducted by Israeli armed forces on the offices of six Palestinian civil rights groups today namely Addameer, Defence for Children International –Palestine, Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, Union of Agricultural Work Committees and the Bisan Centre for Research and Development,” said ZPSC.

“These raids lay testament to the Apartheid-Nazi-gestapo modus operandi of snuffing out organisations perceived as threat to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory.

“Whilst Israel had outlawed these civil society organisations in October 2021, we at the ZPSC are reminded of a time in our own fight for liberation from British rule where the rights of the majority were suppressed, murdered and declared ‘terrorists’.”

ZPSC said an aggravated Israeli propaganda campaign targeted at Palestinian civil society organisations had escalated in the wake of the increased imprisonment and assault of Palestinian human rights defenders in clear violation of the statutes governing international law.

It has called upon Palestinian solidarity movements across the globe to continue to raise their voices and continue to shed light on what ZPSC said was the longest genocide in modern history.

“It is clear to us that Israel, under the protection of the United States of America, considers itself a law unto itself,” said ZPSC.

“We remind them that any society whose strength is predicated upon the devouring of innocent women, children and men will meet an acrimonious end.

“The Zimbabwe Palestine Solidarity Council stands resolute with the people of Palestine and will continue to lobby for an end to Israeli hegemony on Palestinian territory.”
