Mr Hwarare was speaking during a US$2000 donation to the Triangle ZRP Women’s Club in Chiredzi at the weekend.
The donation would enable the club to start various income-generating projects in the sugar-growing town.
“We are happy that ZRP is leading the way in trying to achieve gender balance as evidenced by the number of women in top positions where they are sharing the high offices with men,” said Mr Hwarare.
Mr Hwarare emphasised the need to assist security organisations such as the ZRP in their role of ensuring peace in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe, he said, was one of the most peaceful countries in the world because of its proficient and well-drilled police force.
“I want to challenge other organisations to support our security forces such as ZRP because they play a crucial role in engendering peace that has made Zimbabwe the envy of many countries in Africa,” he said.
Mr Hwarare also paid tribute to the country’s security organisations for remaining resolute and loyal to defending Zimbabwe from both internal and external aggression despite the economic hardships caused by illegal sanctions.
Deputy police officer commanding in Chiredzi district Superintendent Emmanuel Charizeni expressed gratitude to Mr Hwarare and his association for assisting the ZRP Triangle Women’s Club.
