Last Thursday, Police Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba paid a courtesy call on Prosecutor General Justice Loyce Matanda-Moyo where the two exchanged notes.

“The meeting focused on enhancing co-operation between the Zimbabwe Republic Police and the NPA in key areas,” reads a statement from the NPA.

Some of the key areas that were discussed include, strengthening collaboration and co-ordination to fast-track cases, identifying training needs for both institutions and advancing forensic investigations.

“The Commissioner General expressed appreciation for the Prosecutor General’s initiative in sourcing equipment for the police forensic lab,” NPA said.

Other key areas addressed were tackling mental health cases, ensuring effective handling of cases through inter-agency co-operation and institutionalising monthly meetings to facilitate continuous engagement between the police and the NPA.
