ZIMBABWE Rugby Union have started the search for a chief executive officer as well as a director of rugby with the deadline for applications for both positions being 6 January.

According to an advertisement sent out by the ZRU, for the director of rugby job, aspiring candidates must be a holder of a World Rugby level three coaching certificate or working towards accreditation to that level. Those gunning for the post should also have extensive coaching experience at senior level, must be willing to work long hours and under pressure. The candidate also needs to have good organisational and communication skills.

The director of rugby position fell vacant when Brighton Chivandire resigned in September. Nsikelelo Sibanda has been acting since then.

For the CEO’s post, the aspirants must be holders of a level one coaching certificate, have experience at senior management level within a medium-sized organisation, understanding of rugby development among other qualifications. The position became vacant in June when Colleen de Jong resigned but she stayed in office until a few months ago.

A spate of resignations hit ZRU this year with Sables coach Cyprian Mandenge forced to throw in the towel in August, only to be reinstated a month later.
