The unique sports gathering will run from Wednesday to Saturday.
The main objective of the workshop is to get obese kids involved in sport and to encourage them to take sport seriously.
Peter Mawere, the senior managing partner and chief executive for Zscore Events and Sports Marketing Consulting said they were working on bringing the private sector to support the programme.
“We are working closely with some partners to generate private sector support for the Zscore Active kids’ initiative programmes.
“We at Zscore believe that focusing on our children would be the best policy path for Zimbabwe in light of the rapidly declining levels of fitness. Physical fitness and sports would at least begin to focus on national priorities on critical youth sports and fitness programmes — programmes that will be critical in the fight against children’s inactivity and obesity,” Mawere said.
He extended the invitation to all children with issues of obesity that needed to be dealt with to attend the four-day training programme which will take three hours a day.
The targeted participants are children under the age of 17 years and participation fees have been pegged at $75 per child.
Interested candidates can pay the money to project co-ordinator Dailes Bingadadi.
Sunday is the deadline for registration.
The participation fees will cater for accreditation fees, handouts, refreshments and fruits.
