BULAWAYO was a sea of sweat, speed and sneakers on Sunday morning as hundreds of athletes pounded the pavements in the third edition of the Zimbabwe School of Mines (ZSM) Marathon.
Starting and finishing at Khumalo Hockey Stadium, the event attracted runners from across Zimbabwe and beyond, all gunning for glory in four race categories; the 42.2km full marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10km road race, and the crowd-favourite 5km fun run.
This is only the second year the event has included a full marathon, following its 2024 upgrade to mark ZSM’s 90th anniversary.
First launched in 2023 as a half marathon, the event has quickly become a major player on Zimbabwe’s road-running calendar, drawing elite athletes, fitness freaks, and casual joggers alike.
