The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has begun registering private homeowners in Masvingo who are willing to provide accommodation during the Sanganai/Hlanganani – Zimbabwe World Tourism Expo, scheduled for September 9 to 12.

In a public notice, ZTA invited homeowners interested in availing their properties for accommodation services during the country’s premier tourism showcase to register with the authority.

The initiative is aimed at increasing accommodation capacity ahead of the international tourism event, which is expected to attract delegates, exhibitors and visitors from Zimbabwe and abroad.

According to ZTA, registered properties will be included in the official accommodation database that will be shared with delegates and visitors attending the expo.

The authority said all accommodation facilities will undergo inspections to ensure they meet the required standards for hosting both domestic and international business travellers.

“Registration will allow for inclusion in the official accommodation database shared with delegates and visitors to the event,” said ZTA.

The tourism body added that inspections would be conducted to ensure that minimum accommodation standards are met and maintained.

The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is Zimbabwe’s flagship tourism exhibition and serves as a platform for networking, investment promotion and marketing of tourism products and services.

The registration drive is expected to broaden accommodation options in Masvingo while creating opportunities for local residents to benefit from the influx of visitors during the high-profile tourism event.
