The national airliner is scheduled to service the route using a 52-seater MA60 plane after a seven year absence.

Tourists visiting Kariba from Harare have had to make use of other means of transport.

“Tourists have had to depend on other means of transportation, mainly road.  This development will make travelling easier and efficient,” said Chagonda.

“There was great need for us to distribute our tourists internally.  Tourists would visit and leave the nation without visiting the other tourists’ resorts due to transportation that was not efficient.

“The development will enable visiting of many resorts.”
