THE Zimbabwe Tourism Authority board chairman, Mr Farai Chimba, board members and the chief executive officer, Dr George Manyaya, yesterday signed the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission integrity pledges, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to transparency, accountability and ethical leadership.
The signing ceremony, held at the ZTA head office in Harare, forms part of ongoing national efforts to strengthen corporate governance and promote integrity across public institutions.
The ZACC integrity pledges require signatories to uphold the highest standards of honesty, reject all forms of corruption and foster a culture of accountability in the execution of their duties.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Chimba said the move demonstrated the ZTA’s determination to lead by example in promoting good governance within the tourism sector.
“Integrity is the foundation of sustainable tourism. As custodians of a sector that markets Zimbabwe to the world, we must ensure our governance practices are beyond reproach.
“This pledge strengthens public trust and investor confidence,” he said.
ZACC chairperson Mr Michael Reza said integrity and corporate governance were central to the authority’s operations and critical to the growth of the tourism industry.
“For tourism to thrive as one of Zimbabwe’s key economic clusters, we must operate with transparency in procurement, resource management and stakeholder engagement. “Signing these pledges is a public commitment that every decision made at ZTA will be guided by ethics, fairness and the national interest,” he said.
